A stellar shaow! Peter Sculthorpe’s Between Five Bells portrayed profound grief. Cosand’s closing choice was by another Australian, Matthew Hindson. This confrontation made the audience laugh with its mockery. –Elizabeth Silsbury, Adelaide Advertiser
Walter Cosand gave a smooth, assured performance. He and the Steinway appeared to be as one. The Mendelssohn was played throughout with a technical skill, eloquence and fire. Again the applause was prolonged and insistent. –Orpheus, Manchester Journal
Walter Cosand was the very fine pianist. –Will Crutchfield, New York Times
In Petrushka the variety of characters was expressed so well that the audience could imagine nearly every scene of the ballet. Cosand displayed very charming articulation and a colorful interpretation. The transcription is a very good piece but the precision of the performance made it even better. –Musica di Pianoforte Seoul
